Comet Falls is a 3.8 mile hike round-trip in Mount Rainier National Park with an elevation gain of 1250 ft. The hike begins in the trees, and quickly crosses a bridge over rushing blue water. The hike follows the creek through the trees and rocky meadows. At 1.6 miles the trail comes to a clearing where another bridge passes over the water. To the right is a small waterfall, here a sign guides hikers up a hill to the first viewpoint of Comet Falls. From here, the trail continues to follow the creek until the reaches the 392 feet Comet Falls. If one does venture closer to the waterfall be prepared to get wet, however keep your eye out for a rainbow on a sunny day. Despite the long drive, the hike was short but stunning.
