Hike to Twin Falls

Opting for a short hike due to a recovering knee injury, I figured Twin Falls was a perfect rainy day hike. Located in the Snoqualmie region, a few exits before the summit, the trail head is tucked away behind residential homes. A reminder that the Discover Pass is required to park here.

The hike is a mere 2.6 miles round trip, but is a great leg stretcher/workout. It has a elevation gain of 500 feet, but including all the inclines and declines, as well as stairs, it was more of a elevation challenge for my knee than expected.

The trail follows along the river and is under the cover of the trees, making it perfect for a rainy day hike, because views are guaranteed in any weather. There are a few stopping points along the way where you can look across to see the final destination which lie ahead.

Make the final push to come to a intersection- down the endless stairs takes you to a fantastic view directly across from the falls, while continuing straight ends in a bridge overlooking the falls below and above. I recommend visiting both lookouts, and of course snapping some pictures.

On the way back, look for a log ridden river access area. Here, you can easily walk out on the large water worn rocks to find a incredible water-level view of the falls, and a great place to eat lunch.
